BORDER BATTLE BRAGGING RIGHTS STAY WITH U.S. MEN’S & WOMEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAMS

The Softball Capital of the World® welcomed elite Slow Pitch athletes from across the U.S. and Canada to Oklahoma City for the 2022 edition of Border Battle, where the USA Softball Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT), Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT), Men’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team (Men’s Futures), and Women’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team (Women’s Futures) went head-to-head against the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Slow Pitch National Teams as well as various grassroots clubs.

In the annual Slow Pitch Showdown matchup of the Red, White and Blues, the WSPNT came out on top after a hard-fought battle resulted in a narrow 9-7 win over the Women’s Futures.

A 10-run fifth inning helped the WSPNT claim the program’s third-straight Women’s Border Battle title as the U.S. outscored Team Canada 11-4 to improve to a 3-1 overall record in the annual Border Battle.

Hearts were heavy as the presence of Christan Dowling was deeply missed at the 2022 edition of Border Battle.

The Men’s Futures offense came to play in the 2022 edition of the Men’s Slow Pitch Showdown, posting a thrilling 33-25 win over the MSPNT after a tough seven innings of back-and-forth action.
